Revenge season 1 ended on a big cliffhanger with lives hanging in the balance, a surprise pregnancy, and the reveal that Emily's mother is alive. So what can you expect from season 2?
Season 2 Spoilers
The second season, which will premiere on September 30 in its new Sunday 9 p.m. time slot, is going to show some new romances for a few of the main characters. First, there's Emily, whose relationship with Daniel fell apart as season 1 ended. She was going to tell Jack everything, but those plans were interrupted. So what does season 2 hold for Emily and romance? Executive producer Mike Kelley teases, "She's spent a lot of time trying to keep her feelings at bay and cauterize them" when season 2 begins. They're going to be bringing in someone from her past (Barry Sloane), which will "be a really satisfying exploration of who Emily was when she was turning into Emily Thorne." Both Emily and this guy were "very angry kids" and "both from the same situation." Kelley teases "they've lost similar things, and they [came] together." Between this new guy and Emily's mother, it should be a season full of finding out more about Emily and her past, which will reveal more about the woman she is in the present. Of course, there is the question of how this guy will fit into her life in the present and into her current plans.
Meanwhile, Josh Bowman previews that Daniel "still misses Emily" and he's going to be returning to the "party guy" he used to be. Though "his conscience is still guilt-ridden because of his mother" and "he's very weighed down," he is going to have a new relationship in his life. Unsurprisingly, that's with Ashley and they're going to be using one another. Ashley has always seemed to have her own agenda, and that was even more obvious as the first season ended. Who knows what she'll be up to in Revenge season 2?
Another character getting some romance this season is Nolan, as Kelley has said, "We're bringing in a female love interest." Nolan deserves some love, especially after the whole thing with Tyler, and while it's been intriguing to watch his storyline with Emily play out, it should be just as good to see the series explore him as a character as well.
Though both Emily and Nolan will have new romances in their lives, they are "'very much together' as a team," according to Gabriel Mann. That has to be among the best news about what's coming up since the scenes with those two were among the best of the entire season. Mann went on to say, "We are definitely in it to win it at this point. I would do anything for her, including compromise my own safety and, to a degree, my own morals." Nolan has proven that he's loyal to Emily and willing to do whatever she needs done, and it sounds like that's just going to continue in the second season.
Finally, there's the matter of Amanda's pregnancy, which was why Emily didn't talk to Jack in the season 1 finale. She found out Amanda was back—and pregnant—and ever since then, there has been plenty of speculation about what's going on there. Is it Jack's? Nick Wechsler previews, "There's no way he doesn't have questions. But his obligation is making him turn a blind eye to certain things." So for now, it seems like Jack and Amanda are together, but that doesn't mean things are completely over for Jack and Emily, as there are going to be "lots more secret glances." What does this all mean for their future? Is it possible that the season could end with Jack and Emily together after they deal with everything else going on in their lives? Will Jack find out the truth about Emily and Amanda?
