When casting begins for the 50 Shades of Grey movie, not just any Hollywood hunk will get the part of Christian Grey. The actor who plays the steamy lead should not only be good-looking, but have the ability to turn up the heat. Though he's assumed to be Caucasian in the book, fans of telenovela actor William Levy think nationality shouldn't be a factor. They believe he's the key ingredient needed to spice up the film.
William Levy already proved to America that he has hip action on the dance floor; this skill could be pretty useful for bedroom scenes on the 50 Shades of Grey movie set. But that's not the only reason he'd make a great candidate. He's already done his research and he has a sense of humor about it, though he was slightly shocked by the book's content.
"I have heard about it. Every day I hear about it," said Levy about E.L. James's naughty series. "But when I started reading [the book], I looked at these women in a different way let me tell you," he said referring to fans who wanted him to play Christian. Though he jokes, he's open to the possibility. "I would play it. I would love to do it."
However, William Levy isn't the only one who's willing to star in the upcoming film. The 50 Shades of Grey will likely be a box office hit, and it could make any actor a very wealthy man.
Does William Levy stand a chance against the stiff (no pun intended) competition?
