True Blood season 5 continues next week with episode 9, "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." Eric continues to be the only vampire standing against the Authority with Bill "evolving," and the investigation into the shifter killings continues.
Season 5 Episode 9 "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" Promo
"As the Authority proceeds with Lilith's plan, Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) plots his escape. Gran (Lois Smith) directs Sookie (Anna Paquin) to a clue to her parents' murderer. Andy (Chris Bauer) and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) search for leads to the identities of the people behind the shifter killings. Alcide (Joe Manganiello) recalls his pack induction; Arlene (Carrie Preston) gets caught in Terry (Todd Lowe) and Patrick's (Scott Foley) crossfire; Steve (Michael McMillian) gets a new pet."
The last episode, "Somebody That I Used to Know," showed Sookie and Jason making some headway in the investigation into their parents' murders now that they know a vampire killed them. Bill seems to have joined the others' side and even was the one to come up with a way to take care of mainstreamers, leaving Eric standing alone. Arlene discovered that Terry's not just off his medication, but considering what they learned during that séance—that either Terry or Patrick has to die—the future isn't looking good, especially with that above episode synopsis.
The True Blood season 5 episode 9 promo for "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" (below) shows Bill telling Eric he's not playing any games: "Everything I believed in has been turned upside down." Later in the preview, Salome tells Bill Lilith chose him, and together, they "will birth a new world." It ends with Eric asking, "What about Sookie?" and Bill biting Sookie while in bed with her. Now what is going on there? How does that happen?
Meanwhile, Hoyt's going to be in some serious trouble in this episode after how things ended for him in episode 8. There's also trouble coming to Fangtasia, and it looks like Pam's not going to be able to stop it. Speaking of trouble, Terry's still dealing with that curse, and with the promo showing him standing in front of Arlene and the episode synopsis, well, it really doesn't look good for her. Could viewers have to say goodbye to Arlene? Finally, there's the matter of Russell and Steve visiting JD and his pack and Russell giving them his blood. There is no way that could lead to anything good. Who will end up on which side in the upcoming fight?
