The cast of ABC's Modern Family officially went back to work Tuesday (Jul. 31) after finally settling a highly publicized contract dispute that resulted in major raises for the adult cast members.
Back at the production studio, reports indicated the cast was in good spirits as they prepare to film season four of their Emmy-winning comedy series, which premieres Sep. 26 on ABC.
Castmate Julie Bowen and on-screen husband Ty Burrell were already joking around on set.
Bowen snapped a photo of Burrell donning some pretty serious facial hair and posted the picture and this caption to her WhoSay page:
"First day back of Season Four on Modern Family! Fantastic in every way including Ty's homage to Freddy Mercury."
Meanwhile, the show's adorable child stars also got in on the fun, posing for a picture together during their first day back on the set.
The kids too were all smiles.
Now that this contract dispute is done and over with, it seems the cast is ready to rock the new season.
After all, they do have to earn those allegedly hefty pay raises, right?
Reportedly, cast members Bowen, Burrell, Sofia Vergara, Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Ed O'Neill will each be making up to $175,000 per episode this season.
That's enough to keep anyone joking and laughing at work -- and all the way to the bank.
