Abby Lee Miller, dance instructor on Lifetime Channel's very popular program, "Dance Moms" has done her share of screaming at her students and at their mothers but she most likely screamed for joy when she found out that Lifetime will be giving her another television show this coming fall.
The new program is called "Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition" and Abby will be the lead judge on it. It's a reality competition dance series for children, girls and boys, ages six through 13. They will compete to win $100,000 and a scholarship to the Young Dance Program at the Joffrey Ballet School. Not too shabby.
The two other judges will be Robin Antin who founded the Pussycat Dolls and celebrity choreographer Richard Jackson. It will be hosted by Kevin Manno.
According to TV Grape Vine, the dancers will have to learn new dance routines and compete in challenges that will test their skills. They will then have to perform it in front of Abby Lee Miller, a live audience, and the other two judges.
And have no fear, their moms will be around helping to help make costumes, go with their kids, and generally getting on Abby's nerves. Every week one little dancer will be eliminated.
As long as the moms are on the program with Abby Lee there's sure to be lots of screaming and carrying on which will definitely add plenty of sparks. Then there are the dancers who will, without a doubt, be extremely talented.
Even though "Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition" might sound like a junior version of "So You Think You Can Dance" odds are good that Abby Lee will have another winning television show on her résumé.
Lifetime has ordered ten episodes of the show and will première this fall.
