The Dancing with the Stars All-Star season doesn't premiere until September, but an important piece of the casting puzzle will be completed when the celebrities' pro partners are revealed on the August 13 edition of Good Morning America. Though no one's yet spilled the couple beans, a few pros have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, with one dropping a hint as to who isn't his partner.
Popular and talented dancer Derek Hough shared an exchange with former DWTS partner Ricki Lake on August 11 that, if taken at face value, eliminates one All-Star as a possible partner. Lake innocuously tweeted All-Star candidate Kirstie Alley, who finished second with pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy at the close of season 12, "...rooting 4 u on #DWTS! Xo", and Hough responded "Whoah ! Where's the loyalty ?"
Though it could be little more than a ploy to keep nosy show fans off the scent, it could very likely mean what it says: Hough is, in reality, not paired with Alley.
Although Alley did well during her original season, it would be surprising to see her with Hough, since his partners are typically hot, younger women with natural dance ability. His previous partners have included the likes of Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, TV personality Maria Menounos, current DWTS co-host Brooke Burke, and model Joanna Krupa—all of whom met the criteria for natural dance ability and attractiveness. Although former partners Lake and Jennifer Grey were a bit older, both were good dancers with a legitimate shot at winning right out of the gates. Alley is, again, a good dancer, but she doesn't fit the profile for Hough.
Tune in to GMA at 7 AM ET/PT August 13 to find out which all-star will dance with which talented pro.
