When the pairings for this Fall's Dancing with the Stars All-Star season went public this morning via Good Morning America, few pro hoofers were as outwardly excited about their assignments as Peta Murgatroyd.
The reigning DWTS champ had the amazing fortune of being coupled with French actor Gilles Marini, who with original partner Cheryl Burke narrowly lost the season 8 championship to Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas. Burke will reunite with another ex partner, NFL star Emmitt Smith, for the All-Star season. Johnson will also return, this time with popular pro Derek Hough.
Murgatroyd tweeted a reaction to the good news shortly after the casting announcement, writing "How lucky am I???? I m proud to announce I have @Gillesmarini for DwtS!!! This season will be spectacular yay!!!"
Marini is by far one of the most talented male celebrity participants in the history of the show. During his tenure, he showed off some serious dancing skills, and brought a blush-worthy sensuality to many of his routines. Though there's no guarantee that he'll enjoy the same sizzling chemistry with Murgatroyd, the chances seem good since they're both really hot and undeniably talented in the ballroom. And of course, it doesn't hurt that Murgatroyd's 'reigning pro' status brings great momentum to the partnership.
The Dancing with the Stars 2012 All-Star season premieres September 24 on ABC.
