Glee will be back on Fox on September 13, in its new Thursday 9 p.m. time slot with its fourth season, which will split time between New York and Ohio.
Season 4 Promo
Fox has released a preview of the new season that includes some new footage after a quick look at the New Directions' Nationals win from season 3. Things are going to be very different, now that some of the characters have graduated. However, that doesn't mean they're gone forever, but things are going to change, both at McKinley and for those who graduated. Rachel will find herself in a situation where she's not the automatic star, while New Directions will be searching for new members to hopefully put together something that will get them another win at the end of the year.
The Glee season 4 promo begins with Will talking to those who remain in New Directions: "We're coming off of a National championship." Will they be able to put together a group that can repeat that this year? Of course there are still going to be slushies, performances, and Sue insulting Will and his club. Blaine will be singing in front of the school again—will it perhaps be a way of them trying to recruit new members of New Directions? One of those new members may very well be Unique (Alex Newell), and it's not really surprising that Brittany's greeting is, "That's a great haircut, Mercedes." Oh, Brittany. She's repeating senior year, and of course some things are not going to change.
Meanwhile in New York, Rachel's dealing with Kate Hudson's Cassandra at NYADA, and Cassandra doesn't pull any punches: "I bet you were a big star in Iowa," adding after Rachel corrects her, "Ohio? Even worse." Kurt may be heading to New York at some point, but he is still around Ohio for a bit, and that includes getting a chance to meet Sue's baby.
