Glee's third season ended with Rachel heading to New York and Finn heading to join the army, and the upcoming fourth season is going to explore some new territory for both characters. What will this mean for the couple?
Season 4 Spoilers
While it's already known that Rachel is going to have a new love interest, Dean Geyer's Brody, now executive producer Brad Falchuk has told TVLine that Finn "will have someone" too. No, Finn and Rachel will not be getting back together, and the break-up "will stick" for the time being, as Falchuk teased, "I think the idea is that maybe they end up together. ...It's definitely not going to get better anytime soon for those two." So, if you're a fan of "Finchel," it may be some time before you see any happiness for those two. However, you can hold on to the fact that they may very well get back together this year after each experiencing something different.
Part of Rachel experiencing something different in Glee season 4 will be her becoming "a little stronger," as Falchuk describes her. He went on to explain, "now she's a woman and she's been through a lot and she's achieved a lot." This means that "she approaches boys differently, with a different kind of confidence and a different kind of maturity." With the news that the Finchel break-up is going to "stick," something could happen between Rachel and Brody in the upcoming season. That doesn't mean it will be something that lasts, but with this news, it wouldn't be surprising to see them date. These new relationships may be what Rachel and Finn need right now to eventually lead them back to one another.
