Brett Cohen was tired of being just another schlump. Living in New York City he saw lots of real celebrities walking the streets, entourage, camera crews and bodyguards in tow, and thought, "I can do that."
And so he did.
And now, after making a YouTube video of himself walking the streets, entourage, camera crew and bodyguards in tow, he's instantly famous.
For being a (fake) celebrity.

At least he's being honest. These days, there's not a lot to being famous anymore. Talent is not even necessarily required. All that's really needed is the perception of being famous.
So, armed with a camera crew, imposing bodyguards and a few sycophants paving the way with plenty of sycophanting, Brett Cohen is now a YouTube star.
With hundreds of thousands of hits on the video of him walking the streets of Times Square, posing with "fans" young and old (several of whom claimed to have seen his movies and heard his music) he's on his way to the life he's always dreamed of.
Unfortunately, the dream had to come to an end, and the video fades with the fake new star schlumping his way back home on the D train, flat broke after blowing all his dough on a sublime prank.
But, probably not for long.
Here's the video:
