Ryan Gosling fans hoping to see the actor strip down in the 50 Shades of Grey movie are going to be very disappointed to learn that the actor's career is moving in the opposite direction. Instead of baring it all onscreen, he's going to be stepping behind the camera to direct his first movie, How to Catch a Monster.
The movie will star one of everyone's favorite redheads, but it's not Emma Stone this time around.
Ryan and Emma enjoy each other's company so much that they've worked together on Crazy, Stupid, Love and The Gangster Squad. However, Ryan cast another of his flame-haired female costars in his modern fairytale flick—voluptuous vixen Christina Hendricks.
According to Entertainment Weekly, he'll be directing the ravishing redhead in a movie about a single mother who gets "swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town." Obviously he couldn't cast Emma Stone in the movie because she's too young to play a mother of a teenager—she's still playing teenagers.
Christina Hendricks previously worked with Ryan Gosling in the movie Drive, and hopefully he's written her new character a happier ending (that's right, the amazing Ry-Guy wrote the movie, too).
News of Gosling's directorial debut will probably worry some his fans. What if he falls in love with directing and never show his pretty face on film again? His fans that are also into 50 Shades of Grey will be so disappointed if he and Emma don't play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the movie.
However, his premise is definitely intriguing, and most women will probably love getting to see inside Ryan's mind. And for those who just want to gaze upon his beauty, there's always all those "Hey, girl" photos.
