This weekend, Miley Cyrus was just one of the big stars to be ticketed, and some may say torched, by the Fashion Police as Joan Rivers, Kelly Osbourne, George Kotsiopolous, and Kimora Lee Simmons (in for Giuliana Rancic who is on maternity leave) called the singer and actress out for her outfit worn to the Video Music Awards 2012 on Thursday, September 6.
In a segment that was all about MTV madness and that was given the motto, "Go big or go home," Cyrus was acknowledged with the award for the greatest goth gown.
This particular sartorial selection was designed by Emilio Pucci, and really showed off the "new" Miley Cyrus, a rocking version of her former Disney princess self that has her hair punked up with shaved sides and a pouf of strands a la Pink worn on the top of her noggin.
In fact, even though Miley may have emulated Pink (see story here), she still brought her own brand of remarkable with this fresh hairstyle and her particular black number that was anything but a little black dress. The most impressive aspect of the frock? A drastically plunging neckline that almost didn't stop.
Although Joan Rivers actually thought Miley "looked great" in her Emilio Pucci gown, she didn't quite get her new do. But that's OK. She did get that what was on the top of the talent's head wasn't a wig, so that's close enough.
That said, what did you think of Miley Cyrus and her fashion statement at the MTV Video Music Awards? Do you think she was on point or just a freight? Did the Fashion Police do her wrong by pulling her aside to get a closer look at what she was wearing? Thoughts? Thanks.
