It looks like Keith Urban may be joining Mariah Carey on the new American Idol 2013 panel. Or at least that is what one source is reporting today. Apparently, the Aussie singer, who is a little bit, er, OK, a lot country, could be close to be getting paid to sit and judge next to the American superstar on the hit Fox show.
So why such bold speculation?
Apparently, according to Wet Paint, Urban has just walked away from his duties as judge on The Voice, the Australia version, and therefore has cleared his schedule to make room for other jobs. And if those jobs actually include a part on American Idol, well fans will be thrilled to see this awesome performer each week on the small screen on this side of the world.
No doubt Keith would be a great addition to the TV talent show that brings in millions of viewers each week and has done so for many years. After all, AI has never had a country aficionado judging the aspiring singers yet plenty of country stars have been born from the show, including Carrie Underwood and Scotty McCreery.
So, with that in mind, it seems like Keith Urban would be a huge asset to American Idol if he does, indeed, get to ink a deal with the powers that be who approve such things over at Fox. And if that happens, who wouldn't want to tune in just to see how this hunky singer fares while judging up-and-coming artists alongside the illustrious diva, Mariah Carey? Would you like to see this happen? Please weigh in.
