Doctor Who season 7 continues next week with episode 4, "The Power of Three," which is the second to last episode featuring Amy and Rory as the Doctor's companions. What will this episode bring for them?
DW Season 7 Episode 4 "The Power of Three" Promos
"The Doctor and the Ponds puzzle an unlikely invasion of Earth, as millions of sinister black cubes arrive overnight, almost like presents falling from the sky. But what are they, what's inside them and most importantly, who sent them? With the international community at a loss, it's left to the Doctor to unearth who is behind the mystery."
Everyone knows that it's episode 5, "The Angels Take Manhattan," will be the one where Amy and Rory say goodbye to the Doctor. It has yet to be revealed how that will happen, but it makes these episodes leading up to it somewhat bittersweet. So what does the second to last adventure with the Doctor hold for the Ponds?
There are two Doctor Who season 7 episode 4 promos (BBC One and BBC America) out (below) teasing what's coming up when those black cubes show up. Mark Williams is back as Rory's father, along for another adventure, and it looks like something may happen to the Doctor during this episode. The previews do focus on the fact that the Ponds "become part of his life" whenever they go anywhere with the Doctor, while he's never become part of theirs—"except once." That changes with the black cubes arriving. However, as Rory tells Amy, "We have two lives, real life and Doctor life," and when she asks what they do, he says, "choose."
With the next episode their last, could they choose to go on one more adventure with the Doctor only for it to be the one they shouldn't have gone on? Could they choose Doctor life over real life only for that decision to be the one they shouldn't have chosen?
