Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey both reported back to work at American Idol as originally planned. However, the battle between the two divas is showing little sign of a real truce.
Nicki is upset because Mariah spoke about their last shouting match with Barbara Walters. She apparently thought that was hitting way below the belt.
"I don't call TMZ n (and) Barbara Walters," she tweeted. "Cuz I stand on my own two feet," indicating that Mariah did not. "Never needed an army. God is good. Insecurity is as cruel as the grave," she finished.
The word is Mariah told Barbara about the fight with Nicki, including the fact her fellow judge supposedly said, "If I had a gun, I would should the b****," referring to Mariah. Nick Cannon's Mrs. also told Walters she hired extra security because she was afraid of Nicki.
Minaj continues to blast Carey on Twitter. One of her latest messages, paraphrased with English corrections, said something like the following. "I guess it hurts to have the producers tell you to your face that Nicki is the best judge we've had since Simon." Then Nicki added, "...Poor you. Keep them lies coming."
Whether the judges actually made those comments is unknown. Also, the basis for Nicki's reference to "lies" on Mariah's part is also somewhat unclear.
Minaj claims she tried to keep their disagreement quiet but since her opponent went crying to others, she doesn't feel it is necessary to keep doing that. "...Let's go," she wrote. "I thought we resolved it yesterday but I see u (you) want ur (your) pity party to continue. So I'm about to po dot tea (party)." Before Nicki Minaj's Twitter rant was over, she dubbed Mariah "Shady McGrady"; whatever that's supposed to mean.
It's clear the two women don't get along. American Idol host, Ryan Seacrest thinks their fights will make for interesting entertainment. Sadly, he's probably right. However, a lot of people avoid watching Idol for the same reason. They don't tune in to hear the judges fight. They watch to catch a glimpse of new talent.
