'The Walking Dead' Season 3 Premiere 'Seed' Sneak Peek: Stopping to Strategize

October 08, 2012 12:25 PM UTC

The Walking Dead season 3 premiere is now less than a week away, and "Seed" is going to be full of action, gore, and more. AMC has released a sneak peek teasing what's to come, and it's a relatively calm scene, the like of which is not all too common for this drama.

"With the world growing increasingly more dangerous and Lori's pregnancy advancing, Rick discovers a potentially safe haven. But first he must secure the premises, pushing his group to its limit."

Instead, it's a strategizing moment, and a much-needed one at that.

The Walking Dead season 3 episode 1 sneak peek from the premiere "Seed" (below) shows the survivors pulled over on a road, and Rick puts Carl on point while they go over the map. They need to figure out where to go next before they end up trapped. "We can't keep going house to house," Rick tells the others, looking at Lori. They need to stop running. She's pregnant, and they're going to need to find a place for her to give birth. That's where the prison comes in—a possible safe haven—but the prison isn't going to be what they had hoped.
