The new Rick Ross "The Black Bar Mitzvah" mixtape download has arrived online with fans and even fellow rap stars criticizing the new work. The latest mixtape installment from "The Bawse" has not only been talked about by his foe Shyne, but it also features a subtle shoutout to the BET Hip-Hop Awards fight with rapper Young Jeezy.
According to a report from HipHopDX yesterday, the new mix tape went on live stream at DatPiff.com website, which also had it available for free download. The newest free compilation from Ross features a total of 18 tracks and includes guest spots from Drake, Omarion, Kirko Bangz, Pharrell, Gunplay, and Diddy.
The newest release from Ross has been criticized by some, including RapFix at MTV, for not offering any true bangers when it comes to new songs. For the most part, Ross is heard rapping over other beats that have already been out, rather than anything new. However, the mix tape does offer a quick mention of Rick Ross and Young Jeezy's altercation from this year's BET Hip-Hop Awards show.
Ross says on the song "Gone to the Moon" regarding the incident:
"I be at these awards, I still be living by rules/ So when I run into dudes you know we thumpin' and move/ The parking lot, go to poppin', N---as say when they floppin'/ Let me get back to my b----es 'cause you b---h n---as ain't nothing."
Among the beats that Ross borrows on his "Black Bar Mitzvah" album are "Mercy" and "Clique," both of which appear on the new G.O.O.D. Music album from Kanye West and his labelmates. One has to wonder if Ross just wanted to stay relevant in the hip hop genre by speaking over other rappers' beats, instead of creating his own new material to bring to the masses.
