Castle's fifth season continues Monday with episode 4, "Murder, He Wrote," which will see Castle and Beckett get away for a romantic weekend together, only for it to, of course, be interrupted by murder.
Castle Season 5 Episode 4 "Murder, He Wrote" Clips
"Castle and Beckett's plans for a romantic weekend in the Hamptons are interrupted when a dying man stumbles into Castle's backyard, collapsing into his pool. Unable to escape the lure of the investigation they join up with the small town's well-intentioned, but inexperienced sheriff to find the killer."
The first sneak peek (below) shows Castle ready for his weekend with Beckett—as long as she catches a murderer in time. While he doesn't see it as that big of a deal, Martha and Alexis disagree and tell him he needs a plan. When he says he'll make reservations, they give him some input, and he makes his escape. They are right about one thing though; this is a big deal for Castle and Beckett, especially since they're trying to keep their relationship a secret. They're going somewhere they don't have to hide, so they should take advantage of that.
In the second Castle season 5 episode 4 clip (below), Ryan and Esposito catch Castle at his desk, and after he mentions he's on his way to the Hamptons, they bring up the fact that Beckett's going away with her boyfriend, whom they still don't know anything about. That doesn't stop them from questioning her—and Castle from joining in. Once Castle and Beckett are gone, Ryan and Esposito decide to look into Castle's boyfriend to make sure her safety is not at risk. Is this the beginning of everyone finding out about Castle and Beckett's relationship? It certainly seems like it, especially since they're bound to start putting the clues together sooner rather than later.
Is it too much to ask that Castle and Beckett get a chance to have some fun in the pool? That's what she had been hoping in the third sneak peek (below) since she didn't bring a swimsuit, but the fun is over before it begins when she sees someone coming, and that someone is covered in blood. Unnecessarily, Castle tells Beckett to call 911. There go their hopes of a relaxing weekend away.
The fourth clip (below) shows Castle calling Ryan to tell him about the murder in his backyard (it's Murder, He Wrote, not Murder, She Wrote) and to see if he and Esposito could question the victim's wife in the city. They want something in return. However, the amusing part of the conversation comes first, as while on speakerphone, Ryan and Esposito explain they're trying to figure out who Beckett's boyfriend is. They're trying to get Lanie involved too. Will she put the pieces together and perhaps try to push them in the wrong direction to help out her friend?
