Katy Perry performed an emotional rendition of "Firework" at Comedy Central's Night of Too Many Stars for Autism. The event was a charity auction to raise money for countrywide services and educational programs for those affected by Autism. Looks like the California Gurl is overcoming her recent divorce and focusing on putting her talents to good causes.
Not only did Perry look fabulous on the blue carpet (instead of red for autism awareness) but onstage as well. According to EOnline, Katy Perry was accompanied by a young girl with autism who played piano. The duo sang together leaving the entire audience moved. How sweet is it of Perry to fulfill a dream for a child? That little girl got the chance of a lifetime.
The night consisted of Hollywood's most talented comedians all offering items for bid like a night of best friendship with Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. Paying for friendship in the real world is absolutely ridiculous, but how fun would it be to hang with these two?
Jon Stewart's Busboy Productions taped its "Night of Too Many Stars: America Comes Together for Autism Programs" will air on Comedy Central on Sunday, October 21, 2012. This way all of the regular folks with no money or comedic talent can watch at home (and send in donations online).
Appearances by Ben Stiller, Seth Rogen, Jimmy Kimmel joined in the great cause. Sammi Sweatheart and JWOWW were also spotted on the blue carpet. The funniest bit of the evening may have been when two fans paid $18,000 each to use the urinals next to Seth Rogen at the Beacon Theater. This is totally gross, but it is for charity, right?
Would you have paid for such silly things? Since it is for charity, anything goes and these stars are setting a great example!
