'Breaking Dawn Part 2' to Appear in IMAX Theaters

Breaking Dawn Part 2 will be digitally remastered to fit the image and sound quality needed to play in IMAX theaters around the world. It will appear at IMAX theaters in the U.K. before coming to the U.S. in the remastered format.

According to a report from BroadwayWorld.com, the last in the Twilight series of films, this is only the second one to appear on IMAX screens.

"IMAX's participation in 2010 on the release of 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' was a success, so we're thrilled to continue this productive collaboration," Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Co-Chairs Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger said.

Part of the excitement of watching a film in an IMAX theater is the powerful digital audio combined with the crystal clear imagery. The customized theater geometry lends itself to the complete theater experience. People watching a film in IMAX often feel like they're in the movie scenes.

Greg Foster is the Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. He says the film is definitely worthy of the IMAX screen.

"The Twilight Saga franchise and its passionate fans deserve an epic send-off," Foster says. "We're excited to present the saga, larger than life, in IMAX.

Can you imagine seeing Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and the rest of the Breaking Dawn Part 2 characters larger than life on an IMAX screen? If the film opens at IMAX theaters in the U.S. following its regularly scheduled première, will you see the film a second time?
