If you grew up in the '90s, then chances are you longed for a relationship like Cory and Topanga's. The fictitious couple had their ups and downs on Boy Meets World which chronicled the couple from junior high all the way up to college. Of course, all good things must come to an end. Cory and Topanga ended their journey on the show in 2000.
Even though it has been well over a decade since a new episode aired, fans continue to watch reruns while hoping for a reunion of some sort. However, fans may be treated to something even better than a reunion special as it has been announced that a spin-off starring some of the original cast is in the works! The show is reported to air on the Disney Channel and will focus on Cory and Topanga's tween daughter, Riley. The show will be aptly named Girl Meets World.
A spin-off is a great way to go as it will draw in a new audience, but Disney is reportedly hoping to bring back some of the beloved original cast including Ben Savage (Cory Matthews) and Danielle Fishel (Topanga Lawrence Matthews.) The show, then, would have a bigger appeal to fans of the original '90s hit. Would the two be open to starring on a spin-off of the show that made them famous, though? According to some sources, Fishel tweeted something that, to many, confirms the news.
Fishel said, "Just want you guys to know that @BenSavage and I have talked and we've decided ... Thanksgiving is going to be delicious this year."
That is really the only indication that the two have talked about the spin-off. Still, how cool would it be to see these two reprise their roles? Then, there is the question as to who else could potentially be cast on the new series. There would likely be a spot for crazy Uncle Eric and hopefully one for Shawn Hunter. The real question at hand, though, is would it really be a Boy Meets World spin-off without Mr. Feeny?
