The Fifty Shades of Grey movie casting rumors continue to fly thick and fast with no confirmation or resolution of the casting dilemma in sight. Most recently, rumor has it that Chris Hemsworth along with his brother Liam Hemsworth, AKA Miley Cyrus' fiance, are the current frontunners in what is actually becoming the most eagerly awaited casting decision of all time. But wait. Both Hemsworth brothers can't play the same role. Unless of course, one of them is going to be a stunt man or a stand in. No, the new buzz is that one of them will be awarded the coveted Christian Grey role while the other will play the kinky billionaire's brother, Elliot.
Austrailia's The Herald Sun recently reported that Chris Hemsworth is now the frontrunner for the coveted titular role of suave sadistic billionaire, Christian Grey. Apparently, Chris--Hemsworth, not Grey--was so riveting in his latest film Rush, that his performance attracted the attention of American producers. And apparently the 50 Shades producers among them. In the yet-to-be-released Rush, Chris played the late James Hunt, the famous F1 racer. He was particularly stellar in the film's many sex scenes in which he excelled at what the director described as "naked shagging." Yikes, that sounds pretty intense for Chris Hemsworth, who claimed he'd never read Fifty Shades of Grey and pretended to get all tongue tied and embarrassed when asked about it in interviews. Maybe he's not as shy when he's on his home turf down under. Of course, it has been suggested that calling Chris Hemsworth the new Christian Grey frontrunner is only an attempt to create more publicity for Rush. Possibly. However, the thought of the real Hemsworth brothers portraying the fictional Grey brothers is novel and appealing. And they'd certainly look the parts.
