Among the latest WWE rumors and spoilers is the recently-revealed Elimination Chamber 2013 poster. While the Pay-Per-View isn't until February 17th, the picture tells the story of some of the participants fans may expect to see involved in the event. Does it shed any light on new champions or future WrestleMania matches?
A report from Bleacher Report today shows off the poster for the upcoming event. It includes six superstars, five of which have been on television regularly, and another set to return. Current WWE Champion CM Punk, The Rock, and John Cena are shown across the top of the poster. Sheamus, Ryback, and current World Heavyweight Champion, Big Show, are across the bottom half. It's unknown if these guys are split up by which match they'll be in or what.
The BR article also notes that iN DEMAND website has the following blurb about the event:
"On the Road to WrestleMania, the path to greatness travels through many formidable roadblocks. Watch as The Rock, John Cena, CM Punk, Ryback, Sheamus, and all your favorite WWE Superstars lay it all on the line at WWE Elimination Chamber, Sunday, February 17, at 8PM ET/5PM PT, live on pay-per-view."
As of this report, The Rock is scheduled to make his return to WWE Raw on Monday, January 7th. It's expected that he'll be building towards his big match at the Royal Rumble against current WWE Champion CM Punk. Last time Rock was on Raw, Punk perpetrated a sneak attack on him in the ring, turning heel in the process. Meanwhile, John Cena has been basically dealing with Dolph Ziggler, AJ, and Big E Langston, who has yet to officially wrestle.
It's been speculated for months that Punk is likely to lose to The Rock at the 2013 Royal Rumble later this month, making Rock the new reigning WWE Champion. From there, many expect that Cena and Rock will go at it for a sequel to their previous WrestleMania match at this year's event. It's going to be interesting to see where Cena fits into the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber though. Will he win either of the big matches? Will Rock defend the WWE title inside the chamber, or in a one-on-one match against Punk?
The poster seems to show off quite a bit, but still leaves plenty to the imagination. If there are two chamber matches like in past events, then there are still six more wrestlers needed. Some top choices might include guys like Miz, Alberto Del Rio, Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow, Antonio Cesaro, and Wade Barrett. Also, don't forget Dolph Ziggler, who still has that briefcase contract to cash in at some point before his time runs out with it.
Which wrestlers would you book in the respective chamber matches for the WWE and World Heavyweight titles?
