'50 Shades of Grey' Movie: Henry Cavill to be Cast as Christian Grey?

50 Shades of Grey movie producer ­­Dana Brunetti recently sparked speculation that her Fifty had been found with a short and simple little tweet that caused a tidal wave of rumors.

All the producer wrote was this: "meeting with 'agents' at CAA."

Since movie producers probably meet with agents all the time, this tweet doesn't seem very meaningful at first glance. However, as Entertainmentwise points out, Creative Artists Agency (CAA) represents Henry Cavill.

Henry isn't most fans' top choice to play Christian—right now Ian Somerhalder and Matt Bomer are the men who top a majority of the fan polls that can be found all over the web. However, there has been some speculation that Ian and Matt are too old to star in the 50 Shades of Grey movie; they're 34 and 35, respectively. Henry Cavill is 29, which is a few years closer to the age of 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey.

Henry is also becoming a hot commodity because of his casting as Superman in Man of Steel. Based on the trailer, the movie looks like it could be a big hit, which means that Henry's fame could skyrocket—just look at how in-demand Chris Hemsworth became after being cast in Thor. Playing the superhero from Asgard led to Chris getting to reprise the role in The Avengers, which became one of the biggest blockbusters of all time. Henry could see the same thing happen to him if his Superman makes an appearance in the Justice League movie.

Ian Somerhalder recently dropped a hint that he's still interested in playing Christian Grey by letting his fans compete for his signed copy of 50 Shades, in which he will write a special message. Some of his fans have speculated that the message might say that he's been cast as Christian. There have also been rumors that Chris Hemsworth is a frontrunner for the role.

So while ­­Dana Brunetti's meeting could indicate that he's being considered, he's still facing some tough competition.
