WWE Monday Night Raw on Jan. 21 presents fans with the final episode before Sunday's big Royal Rumble pay-per-view. With last week's episode ending with CM Punk and The Rock in a pull-apart brawl, here is a look at what fans can expect from tonight's big show.
The Rock and CM Punk continue their feud, which will culminate with the
WWE Championship match on Sunday's PPV. The Rock is a seven-time WWE Champion, but the last time he won the championship was in 2002. He lost it to Brock Lesnar and then went on to become one of Hollywood's biggest stars. On the other hand, CM Punk has now held the title for 428 consecutive days and doesn't want to let go of the title anytime soon. These two men will have one more chance to face off at Raw before the Royal Rumble.
While fans would love to see The Rock win the title on Sunday, it seems silly to put the title on the movie star because he is a part-time wrestler, at best. With CM Punk fighting week in and week out for the WWE, it will be interesting to see if he mentions that fact tonight.
Sunday also sees Team Hell No defend their tag team championships against the Rhodes Scholars. With both Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow losing singles matches last week to Kane and Daniel Bryan, they now get one more chance to change the momentum heading into Sunday.
Also scheduled to appear tonight is The Miz, who recently saw what looked like Ric Flair passing the torch to him; Big Show, who earned a title match this Sunday against Albert Del Rio; as well as John Cena and Dolph Ziggler, who continue their feud as the big Royal Rumble match grows near.
WWE Monday Night Raw airs at 8 p.m. EST on USA.
