50 Shades of Grey movie casting talk was focused on Ian Somerhalder just a few short days ago, but now it looks like everyone has gotten tired of The Vampire Diaries hottie and wants to focus on the other big Christian Grey favorite now.
Or at least there were two recent reports attaching
Matt Bomer to 50 Shades. The man rocks a suit so well that Perez Hilton created a "completely gratuitous" blog post to honor how amazing the White Collar star looked at the Producers Guild Awards. The actor recently teamed up with Gilt.com to create a line of suits inspired by his USA Network show, and he should have no problem selling them if he starts modeling them at red carpet events.
Perez wrote about Matt, "Okay, so the delish actor might not be cast as the Fifty Shades of Grey hottie just yet, but Matt can boss us around in bed any day of the week."
An endorsement from Perez might not seem like much, but the blogger does have tons of readers. If he starts campaigning for Matt Bomer to score the role of Christian Grey in the 50 Shades of Grey movie, it might actually sway some Fifty fans away from Ian Somerhalder and get the attention of the film's producers.
FansShare has also written a post about Matt arguing that his sexual orientation shouldn't affect the way Fifty fans look at him. The post read in part, "Plenty of straight men have played gay roles in the past so why not the other way round? Just take John Barrowman for instance. While he is not exactly an A-list actor, he is very convincing in straight roles, while being gay."
Matt hasn't said much about the 50 Shades film recently, but maybe he really should consider pursuing the part to show the world that a gay man can play a straight sex symbol just as well as any other actor out there.
