50 Shades of Grey movie favorites Ian Somerhalder and Matt Bomer have been getting too much attention lately, so now Henry Cavill's name has been thrown back into the Christian Grey casting reports.
Ian and Matt have a loyal fan base beyond the 50 Shades crowd because of their roles in TV series The Vampire Diaries and White
Collar. Meanwhile Henry is still working on building his fan base. He could definitely accomplish this in his upcoming movie Man of Steel, but most movie fans looking forward to that flick aren't wannabe Anastasia Steeles.
Henry definitely has his work cut out for him, but according to Wetpaint, two different websites are reporting that he's Ian Somerhalder's top competition for the role of Christian Grey.
It's not hard to see why Henry Cavill's name has been dragged back into the 50 Shades of Grey movie casting reports. He recently made headlines by wearing Superman's skintight body suit on the cover of Empire magazine, and the Man of Steel star looks extremely buff. He probably has the best body out of all the Christian contenders.
So should Matt Bomer fans be worried that he's being left out of the recent reports? Not really—so far most reports have just been based on the buzz being generated by fans and what the actors themselves have said about starring in the 50 Shades movie. Bomer recently said that he had no comment on the casting rumors, and that could be a good thing since he didn't say that he's not interested.
Cavill could decide that he doesn't want to compete for the part if Man of Steel does well at the box office. It might morph into another big superhero film franchise, which means that Cavill wouldn't need the cash and publicity he'd get for playing Christian Grey. Then the decision would all come down to Cavill's personal feelings about 50 Shades.
Even if one of these three guys doesn't get cast in 50 Shades, at least their fans can look forward to doing this casting dance again when it comes time to choose a Gideon Cross for the first movie based on the Crossfire series.
