50 Shades of Grey movie casting watchers probably counted Kristen Stewart out of the race for the role of Anastasia Steele, but a recent report claims that she has a shot at scoring the part after all.
Most Fifty fans don't consider K-Stew and Robert Pattinson to be serious contenders for the roles of Ana and Christian Grey because 50 Shades author E. L. James said that she doesn't want them in the movie. Her book was based on a piece of Twilight fan-fiction that she wrote titled Master of the Universe, and it's likely that James doesn't want people to constantly point out the Twilight connection now that she's turned that fan-fic into a novel with characters that aren't named Edward and Bella—she'd probably like the world to look at the 50 Shades of Grey movie as something completely new.
However, Celeb Dirty Laundry is now claiming that Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon might be taking on the 50 Shades movie. His partner Jack Morrissey has actually been corresponding with 50 Shades screenwriter Kelly Marcel on Twitter, and Jack even jokingly told Kelly to get back to work typing something on her typewriter. Every Fifty fan knows that she's currently working on the screenplay for the film that they've been waiting forever to see, so this really could be evidence that Bill Condon is going to be the director. Kelly even responded to Jack's joke with what could be seen as a BDSM reference—she labeled him a "SLAVEDRIVER!"
E. L. James is obviously a Twihard so of course she'd probably love to work with someone who was involved with two of the Twilight movies. So would she go full fangirl for Kristen Stewart if Condon arranged for James to meet her? Celeb Dirty Laundry speculates that Condon will campaign for Kristen to get cast as Anastasia Steele because he loves the actress so much.
But would Fifty fans really want to see K-Stew as Ana after her cheating scandal? They'd probably prefer to see Robert Pattinson cast as Christian Grey if they were given a choice between the two Twilight stars. Kristen also doesn't look anything like the Ana that Fifty fans have started picturing—they believe that actresses like Alexis Bledel and Emilia Clarke perfectly embody the heroine. They see Ana as looking soft, sweet, and innocent, and she's described as having blue eyes that are too big for her face. Kristen looks a little harsh and sultry, and she definitely doesn't have the right eyes for the role. However, the aloof actress is very experienced when it comes to lip-biting.
So could you accept K-Stew as Ana?
