'50 Shades of Grey' Movie: Henry Cavill Is Still Open to Playing Christian Grey

50 Shades of Grey movie favorite Henry Cavill is speaking out about playing Christian Grey once again.

A few months ago, Henry wouldn't say yes or no to the role when he was asked about it, instead pointing out that playing a super-sexy billionaire with a sex dungeon would be very different than playing a superhero in Man of Steel. His rep later had to deny reports that he was in talks to play the man who steals Anastasia Steele's heart (as well as her virginity), but it doesn't sound like Henry wants his name to be stricken off the list of potential Christian Greys just yet.

According to FansShare, the actor recently talked to Total Film about the 50 Shades of Grey movie. He said of the hotly-anticipated film, "It's all rumors at this stage. I haven't got a script or an offer or anything. If I do, that decision would be made when the time comes."

Some fans think that E. L. James had Henry Cavill in mind when she created Christian Grey rather than Twilight actor Robert Pattinson. There are a few old Dunhill fragrance ads starring Henry as a helicopter-riding, suit-wearing character who looks a lot like the titillating tycoon. However, like many actors that have been asked about 50 Shades, Henry wants to know exactly what he's in for before saying that he absolutely wants to be considered from the movie. He went on to say, "It would be all about the script!"

But Henry might want to start campaigning soon if he wants a solid shot at the role, because Ian Somerhalder is going to be extremely tough to beat—Ian's so ready to play Christian that he didn't need to see a silly script before expressing his interest in the movie. He's read the book, and that's good enough for him.

It probably saddens fans that only one actor can be cast as Christian since there are so many amazing options to choose from, but luckily for them, it looks like 50 Shades has started a new erotic novel-to-movie trend. Beautiful Bastard is getting its own film, and Bared to You fans are hoping that Sylvia Day's Gideon Cross will also be brought to life. So if Henry gets cast as Christian, there's still a chance that Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder will play equally sexy characters someday.

But if Henry does get cast as Christian, who will be his ideal Anastasia Steele? Fans love to pair Ian and Matt with Alexis Bledel, but she's older than Henry. So maybe he should get cast alongside Alexis' younger lookalike, Dark Shadows beauty Bella Heathcote.
