50 Shades of Grey movie favorite Alexis Bledel has finally spoken out about starring in the film! So does she agree with fans that she should be cast as Anastasia Steele, or does she think that the movie based on E. L. James' popular erotic novel will be way too trashy for her taste?
Unfortunately it's hard to tell exactly what the Gilmore Gir
ls star thinks about playing Christian Grey's sex slave trainee. According to Zap2It, this is what she said when she was asked if she's thought about starring in 50 Shades:
"Certainly. And everyone in my life has asked me about it, because once something's online, a lot of people consider it to be factual in some way. I've had to have conversations about it with pretty much everyone at one point or another, but I don't think the script is even finished yet."
That answer wasn't a definite yes and it wasn't a definite no, so it should probably be interpreted as a maybe.
Alexis Bledel might be wary of starring in the 50 Shades of Grey movie because she's never done nude scenes, but she did get pretty darn close to completely stripping down during her appearance on Mad Men. She also played a prostitute in Sin City, and surely she can't think that the premise of 50 Shades is too crazy after starring in the upcoming movie The Brass Teapot—it's about a teapot that spews out money whenever its owners hurt themselves.
Alexis' answer about playing Anastasia Steele indicates that she's probably waiting to see the script before deciding if she wants to pursue the part. A lot of actors and actresses feel the same way because they're unsure about how raunchy the movie will be—they might be okay with a little nudity, but maybe they aren't as comfortable with going full frontal.
Even though Alexis' answer was hard to read, fans should be satisfied that she didn't say no to the role. And since it was recently reported that the 50 Shades movie will hit theaters next summer, Alexis might get the opportunity to read the script soon.
So do you think that she'll pursue playing Ana?
