50 Shades of Grey movie casting talk is a lot more fun when actors and actresses are paired together since fans have to try to imagine what kind of chemistry they would have, so here's a tough question: would Emma Watson and Ryan Gosling make the best Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, or would you prefer to see Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel or Emilia Clarke and Henry Cavill as the dynamic duo?
The IB Times reports that Matt and Alexis are the current frontrunners when it comes to casting couples, and this isn't surprising at all—the pair has been featured in a lot of fan-made trailers, and they've both topped numerous fan polls when they aren't coupled up. Henry and Emilia are also fan favorites without each other, so of course they're going to pack an even bigger punch when they're paired together.
But Emma Watson and Ryan Gosling are a much tougher sell. The IB Times thinks that they could compete with the other two couples mentioned above and points out that Nina Dobrev once said that Emma would sign on for the 50 Shades of Grey movie if Ryan gets cast as Christian.
Ryan is obviously a beloved star—female celebs like Anna Kendrick have gushed about how sexy he is, and the guy even has his own internet meme that paints him as the best imaginary boyfriend ever. However, a lot of Fifty fans are quick to complain that he doesn't look like the Christian Grey they picture in their heads. Perhaps Ryan just looks too sweet and sensitive to play the intense control freak that only cares about sex and dominance when he first meets Anastasia Steele.
There are also big problems with Emma—too many of her fans would be horrified to see her play a sex slave since they still think of her as good girl Hermione from the Harry Potter movies. Emma is also reportedly in talks to play Cinderella in a live-action Disney movie, so she seems to be shying away from really raunchy roles right now.
However, she and Ryan really would make an adorable couple. Instead of starring in 50 Shades with her, perhaps he'll sign on to play her prince charming in Cinderella.
E. L. James did say that her picks for the movie might surprise fans, so what do you think -- could Ryan and Emma surprise everyone by playing Christian and Ana? Or are you rooting for Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel or Henry Cavill and Emilia Clarke to couple up in the movie?
