50 Shades of Grey movie favorite Lily Collins has one big knock against her when it comes to the casting race for the role of Anastasia Steele—she's a very squeaky-clean star. However, she gets to play a bit of a bad girl in her upcoming movie Stuck in Love.
Lily is poised for super-stardom because of her lead role in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, which has the potential to become the next Twilight since it's based on a very popular young adult novel. And at least 50 Shades author E. L. James already knows that Lily won't turn up her nose at a movie because it's based on a work of fan fiction—just like 50 Shades, The Mortal Instruments books were written by a popular fan fiction writer.
Lily looked like the type of gal who would stick to playing good girls after starring as Snow White in the family-friendly fairy tale comedy Mirror Mirror. However, in Stuck in Love (formerly titled Writers), the 23-year-old actress plays a promiscuous 19-year-old who has something in common with Christian Grey—she's all about giving in to her carnal desires and wants no part of the L-word.
In the trailer for the movie, Lily Collins can be seen smoking weed and taking her top off to reveal a black bra. And in another scene she tells a guy, "We both want the same thing—to go back to your room, have sex, and never see each other again." Luckily Logan Lerman steps in to play her Anastasia Steele by proving to her that love is better than empty sex. However, he learns that he has his work cut out for him when Lily tells him, "You reek of romance and good intentions. I'm not looking for a nice guy; I don't do boyfriends; and I don't date."
While Lily is playing a girl who enjoys sex, her new role is still worlds away from what Ana experiences in 50 Shades of Grey. However, it could be an indication that she's interested in exploring racier roles.
If she is interested, she's going to have to work hard to prove that she deserves the part. Lily recently landed on an IB Times list of 25 actresses that could play Anastasia Steele, so obviously some fans think that she's perfect for the part. However, since the list is so long, she obviously will have tons of competition for the role if she chooses to pursue it.
Maybe E. L. James will check out her performance in Stuck in Love since the movie is about a family of writers. In addition to Logan Lerman and Lily, the movie also stars Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly, Kristen Bell, and Nat Wolff. You can check out the trailer below.
